Why the controls are the hard part 

A rigid chain lift positions to the millimetre without re-levelling, holds position under eccentric load without compensation, and has no limit on starts per hour. Those characteristics are properties of the drive — but delivering them in service depends entirely on the control system understanding the drive it is commanding.
Mechanical synchronisation across multiple columns, positioning behaviour at landings, and the safety architecture around them are where a generic control package tends to underperform the technology it is controlling. Supplying them together is how the performance in the specification becomes the performance on site.
