Empowering Vertical Mobility with SERAPID TeleMast Systems

The SERAPID TeleMast System is a cutting-edge solution that harnesses the power of multiple ChainMasts working in unison. Our TeleMast System utilizes two, three, four, or more ChainMasts to achieve simultaneous lifting operations, ensuring synchronized and efficient performance. Whether for heavy loads or complex lifting scenarios, the TeleMast System delivers exceptional strength, stability, and precision. With each ChainMast operating independently yet harmoniously, this system enables smooth and controlled vertical movement.

SERAPID, a global leader in mechanical actuation solutions, is elevating the industry with its TeleMast Systems. These systems, powered by electro-mechanical actuators and Rigid Chain Technology, are engineered for synchronized lifting with multiple ChainMast Telescoping Lifting Columns. Whether in dual, trimast, quadmast, or virtually unlimited configurations, TeleMast Systems redefine the possibilities of vertical movement when precision, versatility, and efficiency are paramount requirements.

Engineering Excellence

SERAPID’s TeleMast Systems represent a pinnacle of engineering excellence. Utilizing the power of electro-mechanical actuators and Rigid Chain Technology, these systems ensure precision, reliability, and synchronous operation in vertical motion. The elimination of hydraulic systems and their associated challenges makes these systems not only efficient but also environmentally friendly.

Quad Mast SERAPID

The Technology

A SERAPID telescopic mast system links two, three, four or more ChainMast telescoping lifting columns so they rise as one. Each mast carries its share of the load and holds its position mechanically, which is what allows a large or awkwardly balanced structure to be lifted level, without the drift and cross-flow that make multi-cylinder hydraulic lifts difficult to keep in step.

Why Multiple Masts

A single lifting column supports a load at one point. Once a load is long, wide or unevenly balanced, one point is not enough — it needs supporting at two, three or four, all moving at the same rate. That synchronisation is the engineering problem a multi-mast system exists to solve, and rigid chain actuation solves it mechanically rather than by regulating pressure across cylinders.

Choosing a Configuration

Configuration  Typical use  What the extra masts buy you
Dual Mast Long or narrow loads with two clear support points Stability across one axis; the simplest synchronised arrangement
TriMast Loads with an offset or uneven centre of gravity A stable plane from three points without over-constraining the load
QuadMast Large platforms, stages and heavy rectangular loads Even load distribution across four corners; higher total capacity
Multi-Mast  Very large structures and bespoke installations Even load distribution across four corners; higher total capacity

Mast count is driven by the geometry of the load rather than by weight alone. A heavy but compact load may need two columns; a lighter platform spanning several metres may need four.

Where Telescopic Mast Systems are used

Stage and entertainment lifts, film and broadcast studios, aerospace and defence assembly, nuclear handling, exhibition and kinetic architecture, and industrial platforms where a large structure must rise and return to the same height repeatedly. Because there is no hydraulic fluid, the same systems suit clean rooms and regulated environments.

Precision, Stability and Lower Environmental Impact

Synchronised lifting is where hydraulics are least forgiving: pressure differences between cylinders show up as a load that racks or tilts. A mechanical column removes that failure mode, and removes the fluid, the leaks and the disposal obligation with it — leaving a system that lifts level, holds height without pressure, and runs quietly.

A Future of Innovative and Sustainable Vertical Mobility

SERAPID TeleMast Systems offer not only precision and efficiency but also the adaptability to meet diverse vertical mobility needs. By harnessing the power of electro-mechanical actuators and Rigid Chain Technology, these systems ensure that vertical movement is not only smooth and reliable but also synchronized, allowing loads to be lifted evenly and efficiently. Whether it’s a dual mast or a more intricate configuration, SERAPID TeleMast Systems represent a future of vertical mobility that is both innovative and sustainable.

Frequently asked questions

Dual, three and four-mast systems are the common configurations, and larger arrangements are built where the structure demands it. Mast count is set by the geometry and weight of the load.

The ChainMast is the individual telescoping lifting column. A telescopic mast system is two or more ChainMasts controlled together to lift a single load in synchronisation.

Each column is driven by its own electro-mechanical actuator under common control, and each holds position mechanically rather than by maintaining pressure — so the masts stay in step throughout travel and at rest.

The ChainMast extends well beyond its retracted height and stores its chain vertically at the base. Working height is confirmed per application against load and duty.
