Revolutionizing Heavy Lifting with SERAPID Scissor Lifts

SERAPID’s rigid chain technology offers an advanced power solution for scissor lifts, which can be incorporated into SERAPID’s turn-key scissor lift packages, as well as those made by other manufacturers. With smooth and precise vertical movement, this innovative technology provides enhanced reliability and durability compared to traditional hydraulic systems and requires less maintenance.

When it comes to heavy lifting, precision, reliability, and sustainability are paramount. SERAPID, a global leader in mechanical actuation solutions, has redefined the landscape of heavy lifting with its scissor lifts powered by innovative electro-mechanical actuators and Rigid Chain Technology. These lifts offer exceptional weight-bearing capabilities, surpassing hydraulic alternatives while promoting sustainability by eliminating the need for hydraulic fluid.

Engineering Excellence

SERAPID’s scissor lifts are a testament to engineering excellence. Equipped with electro-mechanical actuators, they are designed for precise and reliable vertical motion. The heart of their performance lies in Rigid Chain Technology, which eliminates the complexities associated with hydraulic systems, ensuring silent and efficient operation.

Heavy-Duty Scissor Lifts for Vertical Lifting

SERAPID heavy-duty scissor lifts replace the hydraulic cylinder with an electro-mechanical actuator built on Rigid Chain Technology. The result is smooth, precise vertical movement with no hydraulic fluid, no leaks and markedly less maintenance. SERAPID supplies complete turn-key scissor lift packages, and supplies the same actuation to upgrade lifts built by other manufacturers.

How a rigid chain scissor lift works

In a conventional scissor lift, a hydraulic cylinder pushes the scissor legs apart. In a SERAPID scissor lift, that cylinder is replaced by a rigid chain actuator. Individual links are driven out of a compact magazine and interlock to form a rigid column that carries the load like a solid steel beam, then fold back into storage on retraction. Lifting force is applied from beneath the platform, and the chain stores flat, so the mechanism fits within the base of the lift rather than demanding extra height or a separate power pack.

Benefits of Rigid Chain Technology

Provide precise, reliable, and silent vertical motion, with no pump, hoses or hydraulic power unit.

SERAPID scissor lifts excel in their weight-bearing capacity, far surpassing hydraulic alternatives.

By eliminating the need for hydraulic fluid, these lifts contribute to a more environmentally friendly approach.

Tailored to meet the unique needs of heavy lifting applications, including those in manufacturing and logistics.

Equipped with advanced safety features, including emergency stops and redundant systems.

Easy integration into existing setups, reducing the need for extensive modifications.

Reduced maintenance requirements and enhanced durability, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Where SERAPID scissor lifts are used

Manufacturing and assembly lines, warehousing and logistics, automotive stamping and die handling, aerospace, defence, nuclear, stage and entertainment, and kinetic architecture. Wherever a heavy load has to move vertically on a repeatable cycle — particularly where hydraulic fluid is unwelcome — a rigid chain scissor lift is the cleaner answer.

Turn-key systems or actuation only

Two routes into the technology. SERAPID can design, build and commission the complete scissor lift, or supply the rigid chain actuators and controls for your own design team, or your existing lift manufacturer, to integrate. Retrofitting rigid chain actuation into an installed hydraulic scissor lift is a routine project.

A Precise and Robust Solution for Lifting Heavy Loads

SERAPID scissor lifts not only provide superior weight-bearing capabilities but also promote sustainability, making them an ideal choice for a range of heavy lifting applications. With a commitment to engineering excellence, SERAPID’s innovative approach continues to set new standards in precision, reliability, and environmental responsibility. These lifts redefine the industry’s capacity for heavy lifting while reducing its environmental footprint.

Frequently asked questions

Capacity depends on the chain size and the number of columns; multi-column configurations handle the heaviest loads. Capacity is confirmed against the specific duty cycle, platform size and stroke.

Yes. Rigid chain actuation is regularly retrofitted to lifts already in service, including lifts built by other manufacturers.

No. The system is fully electro-mechanical, which removes leaks, fluid changes and disposal from the maintenance schedule.

Yes. With no fluid to contaminate a process, rigid chain lifts suit clean rooms, food and pharmaceutical production, and nuclear installations.
