The Mussorgsky opera masterpiece based on the original work of Alexander Pushkin has been treated to the minimalist vision of director Ivo Van Hove and stage designer Jan Versweyveld with the help of a dynamic staircase produced with SERAPID stage equipment.

Heavy with stark symbolism, the scenography is focused on a a large red-carpeted staircase that rises to connect the stage to a darkened opening serving as a metaphor for the power Godunov seeks.

To meet the specifications of the set design, SERAPID provided 6 LinkLift 50R which allowed the structure to be configurable on several independent modules while maintaining a minimum sound level, thanks to use of the Rigid Chain Technology (RCT). This equipment is completely safe and secure for lifting the performers and conforms toEN81 regulations.

The opera will be performed at the Opéra Bastille in Paris, France June 7 to July 12, 2018.
