Outdoor telescopic lifting mast, lighting and show control system

XYZ Technologie Culturelle, based in Montreal, Canada, are general contractors and multi-media specialists who provide the latest in audio visual technology, including architectural and dynamic lighting. When XYZ was seeking a unique lighting lift solution for its client, the Old Lahaina Lu’au, they contacted SERAPID.

An award-winning tourist attraction, and the only Luau on the island of Maui, the Old Lahaina presents an authentic and Hawaiian Lu’au feast with traditional entertainment for 500 guests, seven evenings a week. As an entertainment venue with an emphasis on its natural setting, the need to have its substantial AV equipment remain as unobtrusive as possible presented a challenge.

The SERAPID Telescopic Mast presented the perfect solution. The mast is comprised of a rigid chain actuator that drives a set of telescopic tubes to the desired height, securely lifting a heavy load. The unit retracts to a low height and is contained within a small footprint.

SERAPID supplied 4 telescopic mast units, made of stainless steel, treated to prevent corrosion, weather sealed, and with an exterior wind brace. The hard-anodized aluminum telescopic tubes are black in color to match the mounted AV equipment. All 4 units are multiplexed to be controlled by a master panel, with safety lockouts for each unit. Low noise levels - perfect for in-performance use.
