Orchestra elevator platforms

Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles, United States

Designed by Franck Gehry the architect, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the four show hall complexes in the Los Angeles Music Centre. It is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
The audience is spread out around a central platform on which the orchestra sits. The stage must be adaptable to other musical ensembles.

SERAPID supplied elevation systems for 13 platforms of which 9 were for different orchestral formations. Two rows of retractable steps were also installed on each side of the stage.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the thousand installations in the world equipped with rigid chain technology.
