Serapid Produces Telescopic Lighting Lifts for Superbowl XLIX Broadcast
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., February 9, 2015 - Serapid, Inc., a leading supplier of theatrical and stage movement technology produced telescopic lighting lifts for Superbowl XLIX.
Commissioned by Filmwerks International, a company specializing in power, lighting and staging for high-end concerts, sports and special events, Filmwerks, who, as stated on their website, “boasts the most advanced and reliable equipment available“, needed an easy-to-use portable lift system that could lift 454 kg (1000 lbs.) of lighting equipment.
Serapid theatrical masts were a natural fit for use at Superbowl XLIX.
The masts were built to lift 1000 lbs. of lighting from a 4 foot easy-to-install level up to 15 feet high above the commentators’ desks. The easy portability of the masts were ideal for the quick changes of the broadcast, and the remote pendant control
The masts produced extend to 4.6 M (15 ft) and retract to 1.2 M (4 ft) with synchronized movement controlled remotely by use of a pendant control. Each unit weighs 272 kg (600 lbs) and can be supplied with a dolly for easy portability. The masts are hard anodized for all weather use. The stable, balanced base safely holds the load weight with minimal deflection providing extra confidence in a busy arena setting.
