A domino system changes dies in several presses in a line simultaneously. This is the most efficient method to serve an entire line of automated presses. The system is designed and built according to the individual application.
The domino system operates by first bringing the die carts carrying the new dies into position in front of their respective presses, with one empty cart to the rear of the last press. Carts and press bolsters are then aligned; new dies are pushed into their presses, with the old dies pushed onto the carts on the rear of these presses, in a domino effect. The carts move back again and bring the old dies to storage. This operation is controlled manually by the operator, with a pendant device.
Features and Benefits:
- Die change time: below 3 min, preparation during press uptime
- Built-in safety mechanism, movements are monitored via optical sensors
- Save spacing, distances between presses in the line may be reduced to dimension of dies
- Automotive industry
- Appliance manufacturers
- Aerospace, Defense & HVAC manufacturers
