Rising Catwalk - Fashion Show Mall
The Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip features a Fernando Vazquez Studio design for a retail space that can be transformed into a live contemporary fashion show.
The design has super-sized LED video screens suspended 180 feet in the air and electronic lighting in the runway itself. The lighting and sound is controlled by a touchscreen interface in a booth overlooking the runway on the second story of the mall. The shows are broadcast live to other retail centers around the country and on large mobile video screens on the large plaza on the Strip.
Both the glass-walled stage and the runway completely and independently retract into the floor when not in use. When the runway is elevated, the stage provides an entry for the runway, but when live shows are not scheduled and the runway is retracted into the floor, the stage provides a display area for large items and retail advertising.
The design uses a 24mx3m, 88k capacity LinkLift system, comprised of 17 individual LinkLift units.
