The newest addition to the SERAPID Product Line, the DLDS (Dual Lift Drive System) has now received certification from Liftinstituut BV!

The newest addition to the SERAPID Product Line, the DLDS (Dual Lift Drive System) has now received certification from Liftinstituut BV! This significant achievement marks the full market readiness of the DLDS for passenger lifts.

These new SERAPID lifts have been specially designed for the public sector, to enable access for people with reduced mobility (Access for all / AFA-concept).  Over the past few days, the Dual Lift Drive System (DLDS) has been extensively tested by Liftinstituut B.V in accordance with the most common lift guidelines on a specially constructed test rig at SERAPID's French headquarters.

At the heart of this new development is the Dual Lift Drive System (DLDS), a lift kit consisting of two Vertical LinearBeam drives (VLB) arranged side by side. This drive type was specially developed for lifting and lowering vertically guided loads. Obtaining the certification confirms the relevancy of SERAPID products and systems for lifts, and doing so within a year of product development testifies how the SERAPID staff is capable of adapting quickly to niche markets with the highest standards.

SERAPID Group first presented its new passenger lift, using the DLDS with Rigid Chain Technology, at the Interlift trade show in 2023 as seen in the video below.

Over the past few days, the Dual Lift Drive System (DLDS) has been extensively tested by Liftinstituut B.V in accordance with the most common lift guidelines on a specially constructed test rig at SERAPID's French headquarters. With a typical payload of 1 250 kg and a speed of 0.63 m/s, the system can convert from dual drive to single drive and propose a typical degraded payload of 450 kg (5 pers.) while conserving the same regulation compliance, for lifts needing an increased level of availability such as evacuation lifts.

This is a major achievement for SERAPID, as we begin to work with Network Rail to install DLDS lifts throughout Europe, as part of the "Access for All" program to provide access and safe evacuation points for people with limited mobility. SERAPID along with Network Rail and Lift Instituut have had several meetings to see the new prototypes and discuss the plan for developing and installing the new lifts.
